Prof. (Dr.) Sudha Seshayyan is a distinguished anatomist, educationist, and administrator who embodies a
rare synthesis of scientific rigor and cultural scholarship. Currently serving as the Director of SASTRA
University, Chennai, she previously led the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University as its Vice-
Chancellor (2018–2022).
A feted orator and prolific author, she is celebrated as a "cultural custodian," seamlessly bridging the gap
between clinical medicine and the profound wisdom of Indian literature, philosophy, and fine arts. She is
a member of the Governing Body of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences
(NBEMS).
