Prof. (Dr.) Minu Bajpai is a globally acclaimed pediatric surgeon, researcher, and academician who
currently serves as the Honorary Executive Director and Vice President of the National Board of
Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). In addition to his leadership at NBEMS, he served as the
Head of the Department of Paediatric Surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS),
New Delhi, where he held the critical portfolio of Professor-in-Charge of International Co-operation.
A scholar of international repute, Dr. Bajpai’s academic journey includes being a Fulbright Scholar at
Johns Hopkins (USA), a Commonwealth Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital (UK), and a Raja
Ramanna Fellow in Science and Technology.
Pioneering Research & Surgical Innovation
Dr. Bajpai is recognized for redefining surgical techniques and exploring the genetic foundations of
pediatric illness. His work includes:
• Surgical Innovations: Developing advanced techniques for genital reconstruction, lumboscopy, and
umbilicoscopy.
• Genetic Research: Leading the first report on the genetic propensity of Asian Indian children to renal
injury and identifying molecular markers for early renal injury in congenital uropathies (VUR, PUJO, and
PUV).
• Transgender Health: Spearheading the document on "Transgenders: Health-related issues" for the Indian
Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
• AI & Future Medicine: Currently leading efforts in the National Digital Medical Education Grid
(NDMEG) to integrate AI and simulation into clinical training.
