           Prof. (Dr.) Randeep Guleria is a celebrated pulmonologist, teacher, and policy architect who is widely
           regarded as one of India's most trusted medical voices. Currently, he serves as the  Chairman of the
           Institute of Internal Medicine and Respiratory & Sleep Medicine and Director of Medical Education
           at Medanta, Gurugram.

           As the former Director of AIIMS, New Delhi (2017–2022), Dr. Guleria led the nation’s premier medical
           institution through its most challenging era, serving as a key member of the National Task Force on
           COVID-19. He is credited with establishing India’s first dedicated Department of Pulmonary Medicine
           and Sleep Disorders at AIIMS in 2011.


           Pioneering Research & Global Influence:

       •  The "First" in Field: He was the first Indian to obtain a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Pulmonary and
           Critical Care Medicine.
       •  Global Advisory: He is a prominent member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Scientific
           Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on immunization and a consultant to the International Atomic
           Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.
       •  COVID-19  Leadership:  He  co-authored  the  definitive  book  Till  We  Win:  India’s  Fight  Against  The
           COVID-19 Pandemic, serving as a primary educator for the public and the government during the global
           health crisis.
       •  Holistic Medicine: His research often bridges traditional and modern medicine, exploring the roles of
           Yoga and Ayurveda in managing chronic respiratory disorders.

           Distinguished Awards & Recognitions:


       •  Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence (2021): Awarded for his outstanding contribution
           to healthcare and his leadership during the pandemic.
       •  National  Excellence  Honors:  Recipient  of  the  TP  Jhunjhunwala  Foundation  National  Excellence
           Award (2018) and the Himachal Gaurav Puraskar.
       •  Padma Shri (2015): The fourth-highest civilian award in India, honoring his distinguished service in the
           field of medicine.
       •  Dr. B. C. Roy National Award (2014): Conferred in the category of Eminent Medical Person, the
           highest recognition for a medical professional in India.
       •  He has authored over 400 research publications and nearly 50 book chapters, continually pushing for a
           digital transformation in patient care and higher medical education.
