Prof. (Dr.) Abhijat Sheth is a distinguished Cardiothoracic Surgeon, statesman, and academician whose
career is defined by the four facets of human virtue: self-awareness, conscience, independent will, and
creative imagination. As a "charioteer" of medical education in India, he has spearheaded a transformative
era for the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), fostering an organizational
culture centered on accountability, quality, and the "mind café" philosophy of open innovation.

Under his stewardship, postgraduate medical education has been propelled into a "higher orbit," ensuring
that the Indian healthcare task force is not only globally competitive but deeply committed to ethical
           excellence.

Beyond his technical mastery as a surgeon, Dr. Sheth is a firm believer that "The Law is King." He
advocates for a healthcare system where every stakeholder—from staff and accredited institutions to young
postgraduates—receives their due. His leadership style is characterized by a "steadfast will" to implement
ideas that bridge the gap between academic theory and clinical practice, ensuring that empathy and integrity
remain the heartbeat of modern medicine.
