Dr. Vinod Kumar Paul
I am happy to know that in keeping with their past practice, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, an autonomous organization
of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is holding its twenty-first convocation on June 20, 2022 at New Delhi.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has grown over the years and has kept up its enviable position in medical education. I
would like to thank the National Board for starting the much needed diploma programmes and I wish that it will initiate diploma courses in many
more specialities, besides strengthening its fellowship programmes. The DNB and diploma programmes in Family Medicine have a paramount role in
shaping the health care delivery system in India and I am hopeful that the National Board will leave no stone unturned to expand these programmes.
The board must also explore all possibilities to increase the postgraduate seats to allow the country’s young doctors to enhance their skills.
The convocation is a moment of joy for the students, teachers and their parents. Their hard work, sincerity and commitment has made this moment
possible. I heartily congratulate the recipients of the degrees and the awardees and wish them the very best for their future endeavours.
Dr. Vinod Kumar Paul
