The Innate Values
Respect for each stakeholder - be it the postgraduate medical students, teachers or medical
institutions, and the staff members of the board; and practicing the highest degree of transparency,
probity and accountability through an efficient and courteous consultative process are the mantras of
operation in National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. The board strives to ensure the
highest academic and clinical skill standards in their postgraduate and postdoctoral programmes and
upgrade and update them periodically.
Of partners in education
Beginning with a handful, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences currently partners
with more than 1700 hospitals across the country. The accreditation of a medical institution is carried
out on the basis of well-established laid out criteria to ensure that the candidates find a fair footing
both in academics and clinical training.
A large number of Government Medical Colleges, Armed Forces Hospitals, Railway Hospitals,
Public Sector Undertaking Hospitals, District Hospitals, minority institutions and private hospitals
are a part of the growing club of National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences in postgraduate
medical education.
Major boost to specialist workforce
Through its postgraduate and postdoctoral programmes, National Board of Examinations in Medical
Sciences has been contributing in a big way to the pool of qualified specialist doctors both in the
country and globally. These specialists in various medical and surgical disciplines have helped
immensely in strengthening the healthcare services across the country.
