           Manuals for National Board Trainees

If any rules and regulations have to make an impact, they must be percolated in the public space

where end-users can easily find them, understand them, and finally, adopt them. Based on this simple
theorem, National Board has drawn specific manuals for candidates pursuing DNB programmes in

broad specialties, and fellowship and doctorate programmes in super specialties. These manuals carry
detailed information from the time a candidate takes admission to the culmination of the academic

programme. The manuals were released for the postgraduates on March 14, 2022.

           The Road Ahead

The National Board has huge plans ahead for the benefit of the community, to augment healthcare

facilities by creating learning temples in them and to allow greater opportunities for medical doctors
who wish to specialize into a particular discipline. In order to achieve these goals, the board is

actively working to start new academic courses, increase postgrad seats, strengthen the externship

model for trainees and implement a stipend assistance scheme in coordination with the NITI Aayog.

Plans are afoot to establish state-of-the-art skill labs and simulation centres, wherein trainees in the

surgical and interventional specialties can acquire hands on experience and develop necessary skills
before stepping into the operating rooms. A number of procedures can be carried out on mannequins

and models, which are so well simulated that they can offer a real time feel.

           Nation.

           NBEMS actively engages in

           nationwide healthcare information
           and awareness initiatives through its

           innovative programs. In December

2022, NBEMS participated in the 'Go
Green' drive by promoting the use of

           bicycles. The Cyclathon organized
during this event aimed to raise public

awareness about cycling as a healthy
           lifestyle choice and encourage
