of India gave birth to a new body, naming it
National Board of Examinations in Medical
Sciences.
The beginning was humble. A petite office in
the basement of the National Medical Library
and its neighbouring building which housed the
National Academy of Medical Sciences. Sitting
next to country’s mightiest medical institution,
the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, in
New Delhi, its spirit rubbed its élan vital in no
time upon the National Board.
