he inimitable model built by National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences is

built upon taking partners in medical education. It joins hands with medical institutions
to create robust postgraduate training and teaching programmes. Large hospitals well-

equipped with clinical facilities and having a knowledgeable highly-skilled contingent of expert
consultant doctors willing to shoulder the responsibility of teaching are accorded recognition to

take the mission of developing workforce of specialist doctors. These institutions become

temples of learning, besides continuing to offer succour to the sick and ailing.
This singular approach of National Board of Examinations has contributed in a large way

to advance higher medical education in the country. The philosophy strengthens the hands of the
participating medical institutions by providing them with young, energetic, hardworking,

devoted doctors who work 24 × 7 to hone their skills, whereby the patients attending the facility

are rewarded with round-the-clock care. With the coming of age, these young doctors graduate
to become specialists. This benefits the citizens, and much at the same time, the country’s

specialist healthcare work force receives a fillip with the gen-next doctors swelling their ranks.
